Pharm To Farm
United States
Приєднався 11 лис 2018
After working approximately forty years as a pharmacist, I retired to the farm where I was reared. I show, via youtube, what I do to stay busy in retired life and some of the things I get into on a weekly basis. It is amazing how much fun it can be being back on the farm and doing what you want to do in retired life. I am a one man operation, so it can be challenging to say the least on getting things done.

Tract Loader Control Review
Переглядів 2762 роки тому
A review of the controls on an old tract loader. Reviews gear shifter, throttle, gauges, ignition, turn off and battery disconnect. This old loader came from another farm to my farm so it still has a lot of good service left in it. I also have a channel on Rumble.com. Load Rumble and change to channel. Search for Pharm to Farm for my channel there.
Community Ramp Build

This is a compilation of images for people involved in the build of an ADA ramp. This way they can share with their friends and family. There is a lady in out local community that is confined to a wheelchair. She has not been able to get out of her house on her own for about two years. It is interesting how this ADA ramp build came together. A friend of mine mention that there was a lady that n...
How to cut a utility trailer gate

My utility trailer gate was heavy to close so I decided to cut it in half and add two more butt hinges. Now instead of one gate I have two gates and it much easier to close.

When you get tired of having to replace tee-jet sprayers it is time to convert to a boomless sprayer.
Casters sure make a difference

Welding casters to the bottom of a frame for a tube bender makes it easier to move around the shop. Sure beats having to drag it across the floor.
Pushing snow in 30mph wind gust
Переглядів 492 роки тому
I had been watching this latest winter storm forming and it didn't look like it would be any fun. After snowing all day with intermittent bouts of sleet and freezing rain on the the snow, I knew this was definitely not going to be any fun. Thank goodness I had purchased the snow blade for the tractor a few years back. It took two days to clear because the wind would not stop blowing.
Star Wars Themed Fire Pit
Переглядів 2282 роки тому
The fire pot I had welded lent itself to this star wars style fire pit. It is the style of the tie fighter in the movie. I guess it took about three to fours hours to weld up. Now on to my next project.
Octagonal Fire Pit weld
Переглядів 2032 роки тому
After welding the small fire pot I decided to expand that design and go for a bigger fire pit. This is made out of 1/8 inch steel and tubular legs. It is 16 1/2 inches across the base of the octagonal and 26 inches across at the top of the pit. I will probably end up selling this one and move on to building another one of a different design. Maybe a Star Wars Tie Fighter. Stay tuned as there wi...
Fabing a metal handrail for the elderly
Переглядів 302 роки тому
When you have a lady that has a hard time going up and down steps due to hip and knee problems, you help out. This lady needed a handrail on her front steps so for me it was a simple fix. I had a friend help with the measurements and layout and I did the cutting, welding, and painting.
Four yards concrete poured in front of shop
Переглядів 522 роки тому
Since the shop building was erected seven years ago, I regretted not adding a concrete pad to the entrance. I have a friend that got me hooked up with a guy that does concrete work for a local town. Hiring him to form the area and pour the concrete was a big cost savings.
Welding a Fire Pot

I found a kit online for welding a fire pot, a small fire pit. This kit is to help you practice welding since there are numerous joints to weld up.

I am doing a fabrication project for my school. And I was thinking about doing a birdhouse.
I could have sworn you were walking around in the Rural King in my town! 🤣
Thanks Sir I just bought one
Great video. No offense but I think you adjusted it the wrong way. If you set it to the left, (as if loosening the handle) as you would for a lighter operator, it gives less impact absorption., Crank that bad boy to the right (as if tightening the handle) and it gets firmer but absorbs more impact for a bigger operator such as yourself. Setting it too light results in the suspension constantly bottoming out which is painful. I realize this is a 4 year old video but people still come here to view it so the comment is relevant. Just sayin.
K's finished production very early 70''s L's were in production 72 maybe earlier
Aloha , Thanks for doing this video . I am looking at a 955L . It has a 4/1 bucket and ripper. I hope it pans out .
Hi mate looking for info on a caterpillar 955c year model 1955
I don't have any info on that model but checkout www.acmoc.org. It is an organization of antique caterpillar machinery owners club and I am sure someone on there can answer that question.
THANKYOU ... high quality information... thankyou again .. !!!! ABSOLUTELY ...A little bit of ELBOW GREASE .. goes a long ways ....
Cut the music
This is great, thank you so much.
What thickness steel is that bottom?
3/16 steel
Thats exactly what I have been looking for,,great find,,
Thank you for this. Did the same thing to my Branson FEL bucket. I'll have Jeramy Reber from @jeramyreberpuredirt7873 straighten it out with his excavator next time he's out to do some land clearing and grading. Should be enough power/weight.
These saws suck
Soil, not dirt..😊..niice planter!
Go Ron!
Good work... I worry about our family farm for the same reason.. none of the kids want anything to do with it or the work. :/
Can I get rich doing this?
Excellent video. This can be used on the underside of vehicles in areas that use salt in the winter or in coastal regions once the vehicle begins to rust. The phosphoric acid converts the red iron oxide into black ferric phosphate and stops the rusting process in it's tracks. After using the Exrust solution and it is dry, use a vehicle undercoating and you won't have to worry further. Just ensure you do this yourself as I have seen dealerships do the worst job of undercoating vehicles. Literally, just holding a spray can in each hand and walking down the middle of the vehicle while spraying. No care to do a proper job. Also, I love your soundtrack!
Thank you sir. Just bought a piece of property that came with one of these. Haven't had time to touch it yet but looking forward to getting it up and running. This is all good information that I'll be putting to use.
Oh you can so a lot of great work done with that.
Great stores
Need Linton tactical pants
One of the best/handiest/toughest small tractors ever made. Very lucky find 👍🏻
Nice looking shop!
Love it. Thanks for sharing
Hello, where is the serial number located on the 955K?
Should be on the right side just off of the instrument panel on the frame. It is a metal plate with the number stamped on it.
Okay thank you and that great knob on the right side by the gauges is that for lights
Yes it is for the small dash lights
Nice loader! Love the older iron.
GREAT PRICELESS ADVICE from a man of many talents ~~ I was considering buying a 955K to dig an additional pond for my brother's birthday ~ I had a construction company including several pieces of heavy equipment back in the 1970s until the construction came to a screeching haul ~ lol ~ Now in the legal and hotel/casino business but still have the smells and hand's on working in my blood ~ Viewed many of your videos and surely you are a man of many talents ~ Thanks Again for your time & sharing - Jimbo / SC
I'd like to see a video of all the controls and how to operate it I was too young to understand but I hope to one day get it back
I will work on putting that together.
@@PharmToFarm thank you so much. He's gone now so I can't just ask him questions anymore. I guess I should've asked more while he was here.
@@PharmToFarm here's some footage of him running his that I found on an old camcorder VHS tape ua-cam.com/video/iemeUyK8k4k/v-deo.html
My grandfather had one of these I always wondered what that black tube looking thing in the middle of the dashes there's nothing on the Dash that says what it is
Nice work pal !!!
This makes no sense. Potash and Potassium are the same thing. Potash IS you potassium source. Are you confusing "potash" with Phosphorus??? They at end you say "xx lbs of phosphorus or potassium". These are two different nutrients.
Ouch.

Nice video. I like how you turned then inside out for better contact with the timber.

Should be 30 weight. I think it is transmission oil.
thank you brother so much it is really nice to see a guy your age Sherry your knowledge and experience younger people God bless you appreciate all your shows keep it up my friend
Thanks for the video!! Great job on the garden bed. I just built one almost just like it, myself. However, they said they'd have to order in corner pieces (yours was a ridge cap, you said). I'm not sure if that's what they said they had to order in at the building supply store, but I circumvented that issue by making my own corner pieces by cutting out smaller pieces of sheet metal roofing and bending them. They didn't hold a perfect 90 degree bend, but good enough. I had the metal someone gave me for free, had some old 2x4's Iand 1x6's bought fifteen years ago, had some used decking screws, so the only thing I had to buy was a steel cutting blade for my circular saw. I got a good one and it was $35. It worked fine. I was pleasantly surprised at how strong metal roofing is when it's vertical. The ridges provide a lot of strength. I filled mine with wood first, some small logs and then larger branches, then wood chips and leaves, then I will fill with my 'cream of the crop' compost I've been making up for a couple years. Black gold! I made my bed 3 ft. wide which feels about right. It's a great alternative to wood; I used to replace wooden boards every three to five years or so, such a pain and waste of time. And, as they rot they bend and the corners let in weeds which are almost impossible to get out completely. Yessiree, old sheet metal roofing is the way to go!
Just use the fencing pliers to bend the t post clips. No screw driver. No hammering. 10 times faster
Very helpful video. Thank you
New Subscriber, In Australia we call them Drotts but this is the first really well-done explanation of all the stuff that usually gets forgotten, and it's so nice to see the experience that helps people out because a lot of this equipment still has productive lives in the right hands but there are a lot of people selling machines that really have serious issues and costly rebuilds needed. So thanks for taking the time to make this and I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Cheers From Garry from Australia
Next time drive your truck out from underneath, that way your not moving equipment over the rear quarter panel of your truck. And reverse to load .
Im bouta work there next week
Nice building and thanks for sharing your idea I need to do this as well.
